Hello World,
With our look at Hex’s Heavy Weapons, we introduced elements of Livelock’s gunplay as well as how certain weapons will cater to certain playstyles. With Hex’s second set of weapons, we’re highlighting the benefits of steady aim and careful target acquisition. Hex was an notoriously precise competitor before life as he knew it changed. The DAMR, Mass Driver and Hellfire provide the most bang for your buck, as long as you can aim.
Throughout the Capital Intellects’ struggle against the infinite war, which has seized Earth, the right weapons will even the odds. The world and its inhabitants will drop materials that allow each weapon to be upgraded with more Damage, greater Fire Rate and, in some cases, reduced Heat Generation. As with the heavy weaponry, Hex will have three weapon types, which are geared more toward marksmanship and tactical play.

The first firearm of Hex’s marksmanship arsenal is the DAMR, or Designated Anti-Matter Rifle. This rifle remains accurate with controlled burst-fire thanks to a muzzle brake to limit recoil, allowing you to target and suppress clusters of enemies while you and your allies cut through them. This weapon requires a steady hand to keep targets under fire, but mastering that skill will make you a great asset in any scenario.

Mass Driver, a secondary weapon like the Oathkeeper, fills the role of a long range rifle. The slow rate of fire makes it one of the slower overheating non-primary weapons, but still delivers the impact of a high-powered rifle. Picking off rogue clusters with successive shots buys enough time to transition to a reliable primary when foes rush your position. The Mass Driver is also a great support weapon, keeping high damage on an enemy to keep aggression shared between teammates.

Hex’s second launcher-type weapon, the Harbinger, fires powerful, explosive shells in an arc to designated targets. Finding the best trajectory for the weapon allows Hex to eradicate heavy enemies along the backline of an offensive, leaving more manageable foes to his primaries or close quarters functions like the Cluster Mines. Mind the Harbinger’s radius, as free-aiming the weapon will only hit the targeted areas, so ensure your targets are at a distance before wasting shells on rubble.
With Hex’s firepower outlined, we’ll be moving onto more information about how Hex was created. Make sure to stay tuned to the official Livelock blog for more information soon.
