Jungle 04

In the vast land of Perfect World, many ancient mysteries are hidden. The long lost Jungle Ruins is one such mystery. For centuries, warriors from all across the land have heard the stories about the countless treasures hidden in this jungle, but the secret to its entrance has remained hidden since the beginning of Perfect World.

Discovery

War. War never changes. Pan’Gu’s beloved Winged Elves, Untamed, Humans, and the newly re-discovered Tideborn are in constant struggle against the Wraiths. A small group of warriors led by a brash young Blademaster named Wolk flee into the Forest of Haze to hide from pursuing Wraiths. In the chaos of their retreat, they began to lose members of the group, one by one. First it is Pyche, the Tideborn Psychic. His foresight cannot save him as he is swallowed up by the Wraiths. Then the Venomancer named Seasoned. Not even a trace of her pet remains. The Barbarian Kanto switches to his true form and runs off to the south to seek refuge at Dreamweaver.

Only Wolk remains.

Lady Moon hangs above lighting the way to the north. Deciding against his better judgment, Wolk begins to walk north towards the Village of the Lost, and towards the advancing Wraiths. The sounds of their war march shakes the very ground and no living being dares to stay within that area. Wolk, filling his heart with bravery, stands his ground as the army approaches the small clearing ahead. Suddenly a blinding beam of light shoots up into the sky. The lit up sky is as clear as day now, and the sounds advancing Wraiths' war march are now replaced by their death wails. Then there is silence.

Not fully understanding what just happened, Wolk sheaths his sword and continues north. As he reaches the Village of the Lost, the elder looks at him and cackles a menacing laugh. “You want to know what just happened, don’t you. Hehehehehe…” Wolk nods as the Elder begins to tell him of a time long past…

“In the beginning of Perfect World, a powerful god created an altar deep in the Forest of Haze. The altar was to harness great power and prepare this god for the upcoming war. When the war began, they discovered that the gods did not actually have the power to destroy each other, and so lessened the motivation to fight. The gods came to an agreement to never step foot in Perfect World again, and to left this place for the existing races. Each of the gods created a protector which contained part of the God’s power. Each protector was to safeguard their respective God’s treasures, in case they decided to return."

However, as greedy as man is, they hear of a rumor that the one who killed the protector would obtain the power of the God. Warriors began to seek out these protectors, not for the treasures, but for the power! Battles raged on for hundreds of years until the Wraiths invaded Perfect World. During this time, one Protector, realizing that his power would soon be ripped away, used the last of his ability to build what is now known as the Jungle Ruins and set up a ‘Death Labyrinth’. The Protector knew that once the war with the Wraiths was over, the warriors would return to seek out this power once more.”

“Thank you old man,” says Wolk as he turns towards the Jungle Ruins. “I believe my rightful power waits for me.” Wolk smirks, and begins his travel towards his destiny.
