Neverwinter

New Zen Market Items!

By Ambassador Kael | Tue 23 Apr 2024 07:30:00 AM PDT

Hello, adventurers! Here’s what I hope is a useful overview of the updates to the Zen Market offerings as of the release of Neverwinter: Adventures in Wildspace!

Entering the Zen Market

Fading Star Key Bundle

Like the Empire’s Fall Key Bundle before it, the Fading Star Key Bundle comes with a free bonus of currency, namely Pieces of Nine. This currency is what will be used for many of the vendor rewards in Adventures in Wildspace, and is available from many of this module’s activities. We hope that it feels like a nice bonus for buying 20 keys at a time; the price tag of 2250 Zen makes the key count on par with buying two bundles of 10 keys each.

Adventures in Wildspace Head Start Pack

Also like the Light of Xaryxis Head Start Pack before it, this pack comes with two weeks’ worth of progress in the new campaign (without counting toward the weekly cap)! This should be enough to unlock the new dungeon, the Imperial Citadel, as long as you meet all the other requirements for it as well.

In addition to the campaign boost, you also gain the following bonus items:

  • Stone of Health (100 charges)
  • Coalescent Mote
  • 2x Wildspace Slayer overload enchantment (1 hour, +5% damage in Wildspace maps)
  • 2x Wildspace Ward overload enchantment (1 hour, -5% damage taken in Wildspace maps)
  • 2x Astral Elf Slayer overload enchantment (1 hour, +8% damage dealt vs. Astral Elves)
  • 2x Astral Elf Ward overload enchantment (1 hour, -8% damage taken vs. Astral Elves)
  • 2x Wildspace Tactician overload enchantment (1 hour, 5% Combat Advantage, plus an additional 5% Combat Advantage while in Wildspace maps)

With a price tag of 1500 Zen, we consider the value to lie mostly in the head start on the campaign, as well as the coalescent mote. We also expect that the stone of health and overload enchantments will find a lot of use in this module.

Cosmic Diver Pack

Whether you’ve been down too long in the midnight sea or have spent just enough time drifting through Wildspace, you can show everyone what’s become of you with this pack! It follows the structure and pricing of the Stellar Sailor Pack made available last module. This time, we have:

  • Fish Suit fashion set
  • Title: Cosmic Diver
  • Gadget: Echo Locator
  • 5 Scrolls of Mass Life
  • Epic Bloodstone Enchantment

The Fish Suit fashion set comes straight from the pages of the Astral Adventurer’s Guide within the Spelljammer: Adventures in Space sourcebook! This charming* and stylish* full-body suit keeps the wearer protected** and mobile, both in water and airless environments.

*Tastes may vary.

**As this is fashion, it has no mechanical gameplay effects.

The Cosmic Diver title is free to reclaim on any character on the account, as long as you’ve claimed it once!

The Echo Locator gadget is another campaign currency booster gadget (15% for most standard Adventures in Wildspace campaign currencies), equippable in the Item Tray (mutually exclusive with other combat gadgets). Like most similar gadgets, it has a 30 second cooldown; this one deals 100 magnitude damage in an 8’ radius AoE, but more importantly, it provides guaranteed combat advantage on all affected targets for 6 seconds.

And finally, the Epic Bloodstone Enchantment is another dual-stat enchantment. Its stats are:

  • Offense: Power and Combat Advantage
  • Defense: Deflection and Deflect Severity
  • Utility: Incoming Healing and Outgoing Healing

The stat values are consistent with other dual-stat enchantments.

All packaged together for a price of 3000 Zen, we expect buyers will find this a satisfying combination of both form and function.

Demonweb Pits Campaign Completion

As another campaign arrives, another campaign is allowed to benefit from a completion purchase! New to the Campaigns category of the Zen Market is the Demonweb Pits Campaign Completion purchase, which will fully fill the campaign bar and give enough campaign currency to purchase all four boons. (Note that this does not bypass quest completion, so some quests will still need to be completed to fully buy out those boons.)

Remaining from Previous Module

The Empire’s Fall Key Bundle and the Stellar Sailor Pack will remain in the Zen Market until the end of the Adventures in Wildspace module!

Departing the Zen Market

With the release of Adventures in Wildspace, the Abyssal Avenger’s Key Bundle, the Bridge Burner Pack, and the Light of Xaryxis Head Start Pack will depart the Zen Market. It’s possible that some of their contents may move on to promotional materials or premium in-game rewards down the line, but for now, it’s goodbye to the Drow Slayer/Ward, Demon Slayer/Ward, and Underdark Lurker overload enchantments, the Thrall of Zuggtmoy Fashion Set, the Bridge Burner title, and the Prototype Realm Engine gadget.

In Closing

Whether you use the Zen Market or not, we value you as players! Of course, we’d love for you to continue to support our development efforts by spending money on Zen, and spending Zen in the game—but if you can’t, or if you don’t find our offers appealing, that’s OK.

That said, if there are ever any purchases you wish we made available, or have ever felt like Philip J. Fry saying “Shut up and take my money!”, I’d love to hear about what you’d like to see in the Zen Market, or what you feel isn’t hitting the mark for you in particular.

Regardless, all of us here at Cryptic hope you enjoy the new module!
