Hailing all UGC Authors! The Foundry calls to you...

It is time for another Foundry Challenge, and this time is a special time for storytelling. It's been a big year for STO and all of our fellow players, including the first ever in-game New Year! We started with the Path to 2409, and many of you now know the path that has lead us to 2410. But what about this uniquely Earth bound holiday of New Years? What happens on NYE in Star Trek? Now it is time for our talented UGC authors to show us what may have happened on that fateful new years eve when the stardate calendar rolled over to the Terran year of 2410.

We present to you Foundry Challenge #10: New Years Eve, 2409

This challenge will be your chance to show players what this new year meant to your crew and/or to the crews of many other starships, space stations, colony worlds and the Empires and Republics of our allies and our enemies! Whether your story plot revolves around the biggest countdown party Starfleet has ever seen, or a somber ceremony dedicated to the fallen warriors of the most honorable houses of the Klingon Empire, this story is your chance to add to the lore and mythos of STO, and share the spirit of the holiday season with your fellow players.

Read our challenge contest forum thread for full details on our contest rules and prizes, as well as our discussion thread to converse with fellow authors and test out ideas for your stories. With New Years 2014/2015 fast approaching, you'll be tasked with a tight deadline to produce your mission before our play through and voting period begins on 12/31. It's a tall order, and will require all your cunning and skill as foundry authors.

Perhaps you can go it alone, or perhaps you will want to team up with a writer from one of our Literary Challenges, or a skilled Photoshop expert from our Screenshot Contest applicants? Assemble your team or submit your stand alone project by our production deadline of 12/31/2014 so our players can spend time on New Years Day 2015, until 1/14/2015, playing through your missions, and casting their votes.
