Role: DPS and Control

Your role in the party is to deal as much damage as possible by controlling the elements. With possibly the highest damaging powers in Neverwinter, burn your enemies with fire, freeze them with ice, and shock them with lightning. Though most of your attacks are single-target based, you have no trouble dealing with hordes of enemies as long as you keep them under control. The price of having the forces of nature at your fingertips? Let’s just say, don’t get hit.

Class Mechanic: Spell Mastery

As if your powers of destruction aren’t enough, your Spell Mastery allows you to slot an additional power for use apropos to the usual three. And if that wasn’t enough, any power that you place in this mastery slot gains additional effects. It’s up to you to decide which power to put in mastery and how to combine it with your arsenal of destruction.

In Battle:

Depending on which element you wish to weave, the effect on the battlefield will differ. Powers such as Ray of Frost and Icy Terrain will generate Chill Stacks on an enemy. Once that enemy has six Chill Stacks, they will be frozen, immobilizing and leaving them vulnerable. Powers such as Fanning the Flame and Scorching Burst will inflict Smolder on your targets, which burns them for damage over time. Finally, powers like Storm Fury and Storm Spell will call down a bolt of lightning at random intervals dealing additional heavy damage.

The Control Wizard awaits any who wish to call forth the elements to wreak complete havoc on your enemies, even if it means not watching your back.
