The Chasm map will be one of the major adventure zones in Neverwinter when it launches. Adventuring within the Chasm will include both fighting in the shallows of the rift, where the city of Neverwinter meets the Chasm in a twist of ruined streets and buildings, and heroic delves into the profane depths.

The Chasm is the result of the eruption of Mount Hotenow and the earthquake it caused, creating a festering pit that the Spellplague has filled. The Chasm cuts through the old walls of the city, a wound in the foundation of Neverwinter itself.

The Chasm began vomiting out foul creatures, and the defenders of Neverwinter had to hastily build new fortifications to hold them back. The monsters of the Chasm are madness personified, humanoids with chitinous claws instead of arms, and one-eyed hulks that run on all fours like hellish dogs.

The monsters of the Chasm constantly assault the walls of Neverwinter, and some panicked citizens have reported that the Plaguechanged monsters have appeared inside the city. Heroes are needed to explore the Chasm and destroy the power that rests there – adventurer, will you answer the call to glory?
