Samuel “Swallrus” Wall here Art Lead for Star Trek Online. I am happy to talk to you about the making of the art for the tier 6 Jem’Hader Strike Ship.
This ship went through the same design process as all of our other ships; you can reference the ship design process blog for more information on that. But it differed a little bit because this ship is one of our favorites and we know how much you like it.
Above you can see what Hector, our concept artist did. He ran wild and explored a lot of different approaches to upgrade ship to Tier 6. We wanted to explore the idea of bringing in some of the design language from the other Jem’Hadar ships.
After the thumbnails we combined a few pieces from different ones and got something we liked.
