Patch Notes for 5/10/22

Event – Heart of the Storm: 

  • This Featured Event will be a standalone event, separate from the Event Campaign. This new event will provide participating Captains with an epic reward: The Kuumaarke Visionary Ground Set! 
    • Captains can earn one daily progress per account per day by playing any of the following: 
      • New Episode: Blue Shift 
      • New Episode: The Calling 
      • New TFO: Forged in Fire 
      • Episode: Firewall 
      • Episode: Red Shift 
      • TFO: Operation: Wolf 
      • TFO: Iupiter Irratus 
      • TFO: Counterpoint 
  • Rewards:  
    • Accruing a total of 20 points of Daily Progress will allow you to claim the four-piece Kuumaarke Visionary Ground Set. 
    • Bonus Rewards: 
      • After claiming the Grand Prize, you will unlock the option of earning additional Dilithium Ore each day, beginning at 8,000 Dilithium Ore for the first day’s completion.  
    • Zen Buyout Option:  
      • For players interested in instantly completing the Heart of the Storm event, we will be offering an updated method for buying out. 
        • Within the new Event UI, an option will be presented that allows you to purchase the remaining progress that you need, for a scaling amount of Zen.

New Content:

Starfleet Experience:  

  • As part of the next update to Star Trek Online, The Starfleet starting experience has been revamped! 
    • Experience updated cutscenes, character models, environments as well as improving the missions and their story elements.

Delta Recruitment: 

  • Any newly-made 2409 Starfleet character, Klingon Defense Force character, or Romulan Republic character is eligible to become a recruit for the 28 days that this event runs! 
  • Delta Recruit goals have been updated to include brand new missions as well as removing outdated goals that are no longer in the game.   
  • Existing Delta Recruits will be able to complete these new goals as well, and if you’ve already finished them, you can claim the rewards immediately.

  • Removed "Free Starship Modification" Tokens from various older rewards throughout the game. 
    • These old tokens no longer provide any functionality, since applying Starship Customization has no fee. 
  • Resolved an issue that was affecting Galaxy-class NPC ships, where using Saucer Separate would sometimes change their costume in the process and/or fail to properly reconnect after 2 minutes had passed. 
  • Collective Will (Universal Kit Module) now has a reduced effect when used against player targets. 
  • The Vesta-class Multi-Mission Science Vessel has been remastered!  
    • The model and materials have been rebuilt from the ground up to be much more faithful to the iconic design.  
    • To see the updates, ready your Vesta and visit the ship customization interface, then apply the "Vesta" template. 
  • The Vesta family of Multi-Mission Science Vessel have received legendary Federation starship materials as well as access to Galaxy and TMP-type windows. 


Event Campaign – Part II:  

  • Reflections of Empire Event:  
    • This will be the second event that will participate in this Campaign, marking your first chance at receiving its reward. 
    • Any of the participating TFOs from the following list will complete your Daily Progress: 
      • Iuppiter Iratus (Space) 
      • Counterpoint (Space) 
      • Operation: Wolf (Ground) 
    • Players will be able to complete their Daily Progress once every 20 hours.  
      • Any of the above TFOs may be played as much as you like each day. 
    • Participating in this Event will give all players the opportunity to earn a brand new Holographic Janeway bridge officer! 
  • Rewards:  
    • Players will be able to earn their Daily Progress once every 20 hours.  
    • Accruing a total of 14 Days’ worth of Daily Progress will allow you to claim the Grand Prize, a Holographic Marshall Janeway Bridge Officer!  
      • The first character to claim the reward on your account will also receive: 
        • 8x Terran Empire Agony Phaser Weapon Pack 
        • 3x Ultimate Tech Upgrade - Beam/Cannon/Projectile Tech 
    • Bonus Rewards: 
      • After claiming the Grand Prize, you will unlock the option of earning additional Dilithium Ore each day, beginning at 8,000 Dilithium Ore for the first day’s completion, and increasing for subsequent days. 
    • Zen Buyout Option:  
      • For players interested in instantly completing the Borg Resurgence Event, we will be offering the option to purchase the remaining progress of this event at a scaling amount of Zen, as with other recent events. 
    • A Second Chance:  
      • Progress after the Event has ended will remain in an all new Second Chance interface, allowing the option to buyout rewards long after the Event has expired.

Phoenix Prize Pack Updates: 

  • New prizes have been added at all prize tier categories, including the Vulcan T'Pau Scout Ship [T6]! 
  • Tier-5 Starships previously available at Ultra-Rare have all been retired.  
  • All prizes previously found at Very Rare, Rare, and Uncommon Prize Tiers have been promoted by one Tier, and existing Prize Tokens in player inventories have been promoted accordingly.  
    • Uncommon Prize Category no longer exists. 
  • Odds for receiving Prize Tokens higher than the lowest-Tier have increased across the whole Prize Pack! 
  • All future versions of the Phoenix Universal Tech Upgrade will contribute fewer Tech Points than previous versions. Existing versions of this item that players already own will have their name changed to include "Classic" and upgraded to Epic/Gold, but otherwise unchanged.

  • Resolved an issue that could prevent Discovery captains from being able to start the Kobali Front. 
  • Resolved an issue that was causing the Fleet Project "Weekly Project: Mark Boost" (all ranks) to not work with several types of Reputation Marks. 
  • Resolved an issue that was preventing the Holo Emitter - Phoenix Shuttle and Toy Rocket from unlocking if players completed this year's First Contact Day Event, and had not completed prior years' versions of the Event. 
  • Resolved an issue with the "Complete the Swarm queue 5 times" objective, where doing so on Advanced or Elite difficulties did not grant progress toward completion. 
  • Some items previously available in the "Ground" tab of the Event Reclaim Store have moved to the "Misc" tab.  
    • This includes Vanity Pets and other non-combat items. 
  • Resolved an issue that was causing Disruptor and Plasma Quad Cannons to deal Phaser damage while under the effects of Surgical Strikes. 
  • Resolved an issue that was preventing the Polaron Quad Cannons from being upgraded. 
  • The 3-pc set bonus in the 8472 Counter-Command space set now passively destroys Undine fluidic space bubbles nearby, instead of only on use of activated power. 
  • All items obtained in Lvl 65 Captain Boost packs can now be recycled in the replicator. 
  • The wingtip canons of the Kor Bird of Prey will now be appropriately symmetrical if you swap to them in the advanced ship customization UI.
