Once More Unto the Breach!

By Ambassador Kael | Mon 11 Nov 2019 09:00:00 AM PST

Beginning on November 12th, 2019, the Voth Citadel Ship can once more be breached and assaulted, as part of our next Featured Task Force Operation. While this TFO is available, Captains may participate daily to earn progress towards a brand new Featured-TFO reward, as well as earning Event Campaign Progress toward a Tier-6 Starship Coupon.

Not Only a Task Force

Alongside the triumphant return of the Task Force Operation “Into the Breach (Event Version)” players will be able to earn progress toward the completion of this Event by choosing to participate in a number of Patrol Missions that have been especially re-mastered for this Event.

Face off against Voth forces in any of these re-imagined space encounters:

  • “Blockade Runner” – Zahl System:  Assist a colonial refugee fleet as they flee from attackers with space-based artillery
  • “Tempting Targets” – Kinbar System:  Reinforce the Delta Alliance by aiding the Hierarchy in establishing a safe trade zone.
  • “Aftermath” – Nassordin System:  Rescue a crew of ships damaged in an attack by a hostile Delta Quadrant force.

Each of the above Patrols will account for one half of the Daily Requirement needed to fulfill your Event Progress for the day, while completing the TFO “Into The Breach” grants full Daily Progress with a single run.

Event Campaign – Part 2

This multiple-event-spanning progression track will continue with the Into The Breach Featured TFO Event. Each day that your Daily Requirement is met, the standard daily allotment of 50 Event Campaign Progress will be applied to your progress toward the completion of the Event Campaign’s Grand Prize.

Remember to complete the Daily Requirement if you wish to earn any Campaign Progress! Ending a day with only a single Patrol completed (half of the Daily Requirement) will not attribute any progress to the Event Campaign.

Rewards

All players may choose the manner in which they complete the Daily Progress Requirements for this Event, whether that is by taking on the TFO, or by playing Patrols. Daily Progress is shared across the entire account. Players may continue to play the TFO as much as they like while it is active, but Event Progress will only be registered once per day, per account.

Earn a total of 14 days’ worth of Daily Progress (28 points) to become eligible to claim these rewards:

  • Console – Universal – Voth Power Subcore (and Account-Wide Unlock for Reclaim)
  • 50,000 Dilithium Ore (once only)
  • 3x Featured TFO Reward Boxes (once only)
    • Each gives a choice of 1x Specialization Point or an Enhanced Universal Tech Upgrade

Upon claiming this Grand Prize (whether earned or purchased), your account will immediately become eligible for Bonus Progress. Each day thereafter will grant an increasing amount of Dilithium Ore as an additional reward for continuing to engage with the Featured TFO.

Console – Universal – Voth Power Subcore

Some of the Voth's larger mysterious crystalline power sources seem to possess a rudimentary form of intelligence, which their cybernetics programs have managed to enhance. These generally-benign entities generate power within themselves through means not entirely understood by most galactic scientists, which can be harnessed in various beneficial ways. This technology closely replicates one of these entities using a combination of Voth cybernetic technology, and Alliance holoimagery. The result is a useful temporary facsimile which does not have an appreciable intelligence of its own, and is unfortunately unstable, and will detonate after a short period of time.

This console also provides a passive boost to Starship Shield Capacity, and an amount of Shield Hardness which scales up as current remaining Hull Capacity is depleted during combat.

This console may be equipped on any ship, in any console slot. You may only equip one of these mods on any single ship.

Obtaining the Voth Power Subcore on any character on your account will unlock the ability to reclaim the item on other characters, via the Reclaim Store within the Events UI. You may only reclaim this item on characters that do not already own one.

Legacy Progress

Veteran players that have participated in previous Featured TFOs may still be in possession of multiple “Featured TFO Commendation” items, which are no longer used in the new Event System. In an effort to maintain the value and investment attached to these legacy items, players that still have these will be able to turn them in for Daily Progress and Event Campaign Progress.

Each upcoming eligible event (typically only Featured TFO Events) will have an option to Apply Legacy Progress to the requirements present, allowing you to ‘cash in’ your already-earned (and/or already-purchased) progress, toward these new Events as they become active. This must be done on a per-character basis, on each character of yours that has one or more of the old Featured TFO Commendations.

For all intents and purposes, this means that your saved Commendations will still be usable in upcoming events, exactly as they would have been before. The Breach Featured TFO will be the second such Event to allow this conversion, and we’re excited to allow players to use this new system to get the value they earned for their prior investments.
