Star Trek Online is incredibly proud to announce our fourth major expansion, Victory is Life. Paying homage to fan-favorite Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, this brand-new expansion will bring Captains to the Gamma Quadrant and beyond, in a new story kicked off by the invasion of the mysterious Hur’q. You’ll be able to play as a brand new faction, the Jem’Hadar; experience six new episodes in the Star Trek Online story; and interact with ten of the original cast members from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. We’re so excited to announce four of those actors for you here today, with more coming in next few weeks.
UPDATE: We're going to continue updating this post with the rest of the cast as they're announced!
At the end of the episode, “Scylla and Charybdis,” which first introduced players to the Hur’q threat, players were reunited with famed DS9 Chief of Security, Odo, as played by René Auberjonois. René is the first Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor who will be joining us for Victory is Life. When last we saw Odo, he had returned to the Great Link, but the threat of the Hur’q returns him to our space. What is so dire that it could inspire him to return? You’ll find out later this summer.
It wouldn’t be the same to have Odo without his greatest nemesis and foil, which is why it’s wonderful that Armin Shimerman is returning to the role of everyone’s favorite Ferengi bartender, Quark. Quark stayed on Deep Space Nine at the end of the show, but it’s been decades since then in the timeline of Star Trek Online. We’ll find out just what new schemes he’s been up to, and how they might affect the galaxy.
After taking command of the station at the end of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Commander Kira Nerys went on a spiritual journey that ended with her as the Kai of the Bajoran people. But with Odo returning to this quadrant, Nana Visitor will bring Kira to life once again, bringing one of the most beloved characters in Star Trek history to life in Star Trek Online.
Up next, the return of a familiar face. J.G. Hertzler has spent the last year guiding players in Star Trek Online as the long-thought-dead Klingon general, Martok. Now he will lead the forces of the combined Federation, Klingon, and Romulan alliance into battle against the Klingons’ oldest and greatest enemy, the fearsome Hur’q. Adventure once again with the legendary Klingon general when Victory is Life releases in June 2018 on PC, and later this year on Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Dr. Julian Bashir, as played by Alexander Siddig, is bringing his medical expertise to the world of Star Trek Online! The secretly augmented Doctor hasn't been seen on Deep Space Nine in many years, but the threat of the Hur'q and the return of Odo will draw him back, putting him in touch with some familiar faces and some old conflicts.
Speaking of both friends and enemies, the plain, simple tailor named Garak is returning to world of Deep Space Nine, and Andrew Robinson is returning to play him. Garak was one of the most fascinating characters in all of Star Trek history, constantly walking the grey area of the Star Trek universe. We're so excited to see what he brings to Victory is Life.
As revealed on our Ten Forward Weekly community stream on April 5th, Star Trek Online is incredibly happy to announce our next Star Trek actor to join Victory is Life: Aron Eisenberg! Aron is returning to the role of Nog, the first Ferengi to join Starfleet, and the Captain of the U.S.S. Chimera. Nog is a former Chief Engineer of the Enterprise, as well as a veteran of the Dominion and Iconian Wars. With the return of the Hu’rq, he’s been called into action and will once again be interacting with your Captain in a race to save the galaxy.
Congratulations to all of our Captains who made it through our Star Trek Online hidden puzzles, and found their way to this news first! We’re incredibly happy to announce that Jeffrey Combs will be joining the cast of Victory is Life, as two of his most famous Star Trek characters, Weyoun and Brunt! Jeffrey Combs is one of only five people to play seven or more different characters in Star Trek, a distinction which includes fellow Victory is Life castmember J.G. Hertzler.
Chase Masterson’s presence as Leeta has graced the halls of Deep Space Nine for years in Star Trek Online, but only as a hologram or the Mirror Universe version of herself. The “real” Leeta has never met our Captains – until now. Chase is returning for Victory is Life, and bringing Leeta with her. What has her life been like as the wife of the Grand Nagus all of these years? You’ll find out in Victory is Life.
And speaking of a certain Grand Nagus, Max Grodénchik is bringing Rom, the always lovable Ferengi who stumbled into leading his people, to Star Trek Online. The Grand Nagus will have a big part to play in the battle against the Hur’q, and you’ll get to experience it with him.
In the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode, “The Abandoned,” Bumper Robinson played a young Jem’Hadar who was found on Deep Space Nine as a baby. He grew to near adulthood in a matter of days, and despite Odo’s attempts to reason with him, returned to Dominion space to be with his people. That same Jem’Hadar, Dukan’Rex, is now an Elder First, and will be a central character to the story of Victory is Life.
It wouldn’t be right to have the Dominion without their gods. Salome Jens returns to the role of the Female Changeling who led her people during the Dominion War. The Changeling has been in Starfleet’s custody since the end of the war – has she changed, or will she be a new threat to the Alpha Quadrant? Find out in June.
In addition to these new cast members and features, Victory is Life will raise the Star Trek Online level cap to 65, introduce a new queue, new progression systems, and will add a Sector Battlezone, a new gameplay feature that takes players into a war between the stars to save the Gamma Quadrant. We’ll have more information on all of these features very soon, and we can’t wait for you to experience them.
Victory is Life.
