Become the Praetor!

By Ambassador Kael
Wed 16 Nov 2022 09:00:00 AM PST

The first iteration of this design was created by the Romulan Star Empire to serve as the flagship of the Praetor at the time. Although the Empire eventually gave way to the Republic following the devastation caused by the Hobus Supernova, effective and stylish designs such as this one are not easily abandoned. In the modern era, it has been refitted with the latest in powerful weapon arrays and subsystems to complement its excellent communication and coordination systems. This brand new Romulan Starship from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is live on PC right now, and will be coming a little bit later on Xbox and Playstation. It’ll be available as part of an update to the Infinity Lock Box!

Praetor Command Warbird Battlecruiser [T6]

The Praetor is a devastating battlefield asset, a technology demonstrator, and a highly protected mobile command post all in one. Never intended for mass production, this unique class of ship is specialized in one respect: giving as much power as possible to the fleet commander, as if the ancient concept of a royal guard was forged into a single massive device. Praetors coordinate the fleet, direct local intelligence efforts, and defeat all threats to Romulan authority—on the battlefield or off it.

And then came Hobus. And the collapse, the diaspora, the slow-motion civil war. The cagey and autocratic design philosophy that produced the Praetor has found a lucky niche in this new galaxy. Even a single ship of this class can turn a disparate subsector of hidden Romulan refugees into a burgeoning hub of the Republic, fortified and self-sufficient.

This ship comes with a Commander Engineering / Command Specialist Bridge Officer seat and a Lieutenant Universal / Miracle Worker Specialist Bridge Officer seat.

Console – Universal – Spinal Mount Plasma Torpedo

Activating this Console charges and fires a truly formidable Plasma Torpedo, which homes in on the target and detonates in a massive explosion. It deals tremendous area Kinetic damage and renders the primary target's Hull brittle, reducing its Damage Resistance Rating considerably. The longer the weapon was allowed to charge, the more devastating the impact.
Mastery is achieved before the first strike. This is true as much for raptors seeking prey as it is Empires seeking growth. Through evolution, the universe cries out in curiosity and will to power. Soar above, observe, and achieve mastery. The Federation's search for truth is simply a less honest, less pure search for mastery. The Klingons' search for victory is simply less intelligent, less pure search for mastery. The raptor and the Romulan Star Empire rise because we understand these things are the same.
Cloak, observe, prepare. When the time to strike comes, it is mere formality.

This console also provides a passive boost to Kinetic and Plasma damage as well as Hull Capacity. This console may be equipped on any ship in any console slot.

This console mod may be used on any starship, in any console slot. Only one of these consoles may be equipped on a ship at a time.

Starship Trait – Test Them

While this trait is slotted, the Damage buff granted by decloaking causes your damage to Mark Foes. Defeating a Marked Foe enables They Are Weak I, II, III, or IV depending on Foe size. They Are Weak is a buff that improves self and allied ships’ Damage and Hull Capacity and lasts until mapmove. Only the largest applies.

Special Costume - Praetor Beta

Based on original concepts for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the Praetor Beta costume shows what this ship may have looked like before it received some changes for its final onscreen version. The costume is unlocked with the Praetor Command Warbird Battlecruiser for free.
