We have received our first orders from Starfleet Command. We are to begin our tour of duty by picking up a contingent of Galactic News Network reporters who will broadcast our missions to the public of the Federation through a new network of recording partners known as the TwitchTV Broadcast Consortium. Our hope with these broadcasts is to show the bravery and ingenuity of Starfleet, and to emphasize that our first and foremost concerns are the exploration of new worlds, and the protection of those worlds we know too well.

Our first official investigation will be of reports that the Orion Syndicate has begun preying on freighters in this sector. While I am unsure exactly what we will find, our recent mission to investigate the Vega Colony has shown me that no matter what my crew and I expect, we should always be prepared for anything but.
