Neverwinter

Developer Blog: Fangbreaker Island

Von Andy (StrumSlinger) | Mo 25 Jul 2016 10:21:26 PDT

Hello, adventurers! Sean, “Commander Ander”, McCann here to talk to you about Fangbreaker Island, our newest dungeon in Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder. Fangbreaker Island will be our toughest dungeon yet and our first dungeon requiring a higher tier of gear. Players can access this five-player dungeon when they’ve completed enough of the new Storm King’s Thunder campaign and have a sufficiently high item level.

Fangbreaker Island is located out in the Sea of Moving Ice and is one of the keeps of the frost giants where they store the treasures that they’ve plundered. Players will be sneaking onto the island to recover an important artifact needed for the fight against the giants and their master. You’ll discover that it’s not exactly easy to go through a giant’s keep unnoticed!

Players will travel from the highest peak of Fangbreaker Island to its lowest cave, battling all of the forces of the frost giants as they discover intruders lurking in their keep in the middle of the frozen sea.  Players will face bosses such as the manticore, who will use the power of a mountain against adventurers, an imposing dragon turtle whose feeding has been (quite rudely) interrupted, and Drufi, an extremely powerful frost giant who wields the power of winter.

We’re all really excited to see players explore every nook and cranny of Fangbreaker Island in Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder. It’s going to be the most challenging dungeon we’ve made to date, and we look forward to seeing players tackle the challenge of each of our bosses. Stay tuned for more information on the dungeon and its bosses!
