Flag officers (admirals) are Starfleet's top-ranking officials. They routinely make decisions that affect thousands of lives, controlling not just single ships but whole squadrons and fleets. Their silver and gold-trimmed uniforms hearken back to the gold braid seen in navies of days past.

Flag officers Vice Admiral and lower wear silver accents. Admirals and fleet admirals wear gold.
