Highlights

The Day of the Dungeon Master has returned!

Respen Durothil has returned, and this year he has brought with him his esteemed colleague Portobello DaVinci!  Respen's Game has been expanded into a four week campaign, with a new social area available only during the event.  Check it out in-game from March 31 to April 28, and if you're hungry for more info, check out the following articles:

Doubles and Sales

A 2x Enchants and Runes event kicks off this action-packed weekend.  Any time you would get an Enchantment or Runestone up through Rank 9, you'll get two instead!  This includes enemy drops in-game, lockboxes, or skill nodes.

We've got a 15% Key sale over the weekend for those who want Enchanted Keys, Strongbox Keys, or Legendary Dragon Keys.

While the Wondrous Blueprint from Wonders of Gond is going away at maintenance time, a new Augment Companion will be newly available for purchase: Watler the gargoyle!  Watler will be available for the foreseeable future, but the Key sale only lasts until Monday at 10 AM PDT (UTC-7), so pick them up while they're discounted!

Release Notes

Content and Environment

Castle Never

  • The "Dancing on the Ceiling" achievement can now properly be attained.

Dungeons

  • Caverns of Karrundax: A few kobolds had taken an order to "hide in the rocks" a little too literally.  These kobolds are no longer actually inside the rocks.
  • Mini-bosses in Cragmire Crypts (Master), Gray Wolf Den (Master), and Temple of the Spider (Master) once again drop the proper Seals.

Events

  • The community has voted, and the first and second place events are in!
    • 2x Experience is now scheduled to run over the weekend starting April 7, 2016.
    • 2x Seals is now scheduled to run over the weekend starting April 21, 2016.
    • Various other events are now updated to show on the schedule.  Please note that the schedule for May is likely to change.

The Maze Engine Campaign

  • In Defense of Gauntlgrym: Cultists no longer occasionally get stuck in collision during this quest.
  • Several adjustments and improvements have been made to voice-over timing and accuracy throughout the campaign.  And Boo's squeaks, too.
  • The Depths of Madness: Linu is now more patient with players who wish to pick up loot.  She now gives players 10 seconds before moving forward again.
  • The Horned King: Duplicate objectives no longer appear in the quest journal.
  • The Sword of Fiery Justice: Players may now travel to this quest's instance from the Overworld Map in addition to the Underdark Map.
  • The Will of the Gauntlet: The Balor no longer deals PBAoE damage before they spawn.

General

  • Icewind Dale: The quests, Safe Keeping and Needless Distraction, no longer have a chance to show a blank objective list.
  • Protector's Enclave: The displays outside the Grand Emporium are once again populated with adorable baby companions.
  • Stronghold PvP: This queue no longer shows up regardless of whether the player can join.
  • Temple Tier 4 Upgrade: This quest now only requires players to recover one tome of Mielikki instead of three.

Combat and Powers

Monsters and NPCs

  • Cult of the Eternal Flame: Razerblasts now properly explode on death.

Items and Economy

Mounts

  • The Demon Sled icon now properly shows the correct quality border color.
  • The Demon Sled and Frozen Demon Sled now show the correct flame effects when in use.

Shaundakul Lockbox

  • Shaundakul's Artifact Pack now properly displays reward quality appropriate to its reward contents, rather than displaying that it gave Epic quality rewards every time.
  • The Burning Artifact Weapon Set from the Elemental Artifact Weapon Choice Pack now properly gives Hunter Rangers the Burning Longbow and Axes.

General

  • Cache of the Fallen: This cache now properly awards an Epic Influence Voucher as well as a Greater Resonance Stone.
  • Trickster Rogue Booster Pack: The Trickster's Shadow Cloak and Trickster's Deceptive Guise transmutation items no longer have a class restriction.

User Interface

Character Sheet

  • Certain class power tooltips no longer include their keybinds in the description.

Inspect

  • Inspecting other players no longer displays your guild name in their Inspect window.

Mounts

  • Small improvements have been made to the Mount tooltip layout.
  • Tooltips no longer appear when choosing Mount powers, as all of the relevant info is already on the screen.
  • When slotting a Universal Insignia, slots are now sorted by which bonus they can provide.

Party

  • The Party UI no longer draws horizontally on some screens, now properly pays attention to UI scaling, and can once again properly be adjusted using the HUD layout editor.

Queues

  • Players are now immediately transferred to an instance upon everyone's acceptance of the prompt, rather than being prompted again for the actual transfer.
  • Players are now properly transferred to Demogorgon or Tiamat instances when a minimum number of players have accepted the queue.
    • This change allows players to transfer to the instance early and let Reinforcement fill the queue, rather than requiring everyone to accept again.
  • Reopening to the Home Page after selecting, but not joining, queues, then closing the queue window, no longer asks the player if they really want to close the window.
  • There once again an indicator for the number of players who have accepted the queue prompt, as well as how much time remains before the prompt times out.
    • Known issue: The text in this indicator displays in English, regardless of the player's language.

General

  • When clicking on several dropdown menus in a single window, the menus now properly function.

Stability and Performance

  • More improvements have been made to the stability of queues and maps.  This will result in fewer map-wide disconnects during queued and normal content.
  • The number of shaders loaded per frame has been lowered.
    • As a result, some players who have been crashing to a "Device Removed" error will now have less trouble getting into the game.
    • This will help narrow down further causes of these graphics-related crashes.
