Heroes, our Steel Crusade update is now live! Log in now to fight through the brand-new mission chain, play as a Reawakened Automaton archetype, and face off against Mechanon himself!

The Steel Crusade mission chain begins for any character level 18+ in Millennium City, where things are really heating up as citizens are spontaneously bursting into flame - talk to Defender for a pointer mission. With the help of Professor Silverback, you’ll need to help save citizens by shrinking down to microscopic size to enter the human brain and investigate the cause of the malady.

Part 2 of the update, now live, has our heroes hot on the trail of mechanical supervillain Mechanon, having identified him as the villain behind the spontaneous combustions in Millennium City. UNTIL has evidence that he's planning a worldwide attack in just a few days from his cislunar space station. They'll need the heroes' help to bust into the station, destroy his nanovirus-building factory, and take out Mechanon himself.

This new mission chain will take players into space, where the new GATEWAY space station is a brand-new hub area for missions in outer space. Currently this is the only mission based out of GATEWAY, but we've got some future plans that'll require space suits, so keep an eye open for that.

You'll also be able to spend your Mechanon Coalition Recognition, earned from the Steel Crusade daily missions, on new costume pieces, Action Figures and more. You can learn more about this in this preview blog.

Finally, now's the perfect time to start leveling up a Reawakened Automaton. This archetype is only available to players who’ve reached level 40 on another character; the Automaton has access to a few brand-new powers, including a Rocket Punch, and you can unlock these new powers for your freeform characters by leveling your Automoton to 40. Learn more in this preview blog.

We're also excited to announce that we'll be having a bonus XP weekend, to help you get your Automaton up to 40. That'll kick off on Friday morning (Pacific time), so get ready to rock 'n' roll with robots!
