Livelock – PAX East Recap

By Alex | Mon 16 May 2016 02:00:00 PM PDT

Last month, we gave PAX East goers one of the first chances to go hands-on with Livelock, our top-down co-operative shooter. It was an exciting time for both the Perfect World Entertainment and Tuque Games teams after planning the show and working on an awesome demo experience for all those folks heading to a game-filled weekend in Boston. Needless to say, we were absolutely thrilled with the experience and the level of excitement the community showed playing through our game. Below is a quick video recapping our experience from PAX East:

In addition to the feedback that we received from the community, we also ran some data from the event to get a better idea of how the game was performing and what we could potentially do to make adjustments to the game as we head towards launch. The demo featured all three of our playable characters and showcased a single level for attendees to play through. We also ran a top-score contest where attendees could fight for a spot in the top three and win either a Xbox One, Logitech gear pack or AMD CPU. Here’s some quick stats from the show:

  • Out of all three characters Vanguard had the highest average for kills.
  • Vanguard was also used to set the high score during the show, which was 82,574,500. The average score was around 16 million.
  • The average amount of deaths during the show was just a little over two deaths per character. The maximum amount of deaths in session was 14 times.
  • Of the eight enemies, the Pounder dealt the most damage during the show with his stomp ability which maxed out at over 2000 damage in one session.
  • Hex’s Ultra Velocity was one of the most used functions in a single session with one player using it over 71 times during their session. On average, it was used about 19 times per session. That’s a lot of dashing!

We’re learning a ton from all the other stats collected during the demo, which will only help improve Livelock’s development. As we have before, we want to thank everyone for coming to the booth during the show. Your support during the show was amazing!

The Livelock process will continue on our ForumsFacebook and Twitter until its release later in 2016. Follow us for exclusive content including the latest news, developer chats, concept art, and more.
